AN ELDERLY couple were the victim of a distraction burglary after £2,500 was stolen from their Cirencester home.
At approximately 5pm last Tuesday, February 8, a man visited the home of the couple and stated that he needed to go in to check the electrics as there had been an explosion at a nearby address.
The man was let into the address and directed to the fuse box at which point he asked the victim to carry out a number of tasks, such as turning appliances on in other rooms. When the victim returned the man had left the address and around £2,500 in cash has been stolen.
Police have now released an e-fit of a man they wish to speak to.
The man was described as white, around 5ft 6” tall, approximately 30-years-old, of average build and clean shaven. He was wearing a blue baseball cap with black waist length jacket and black trousers.
