WILTS & GLOS Standard advertising executive Scott Bartlett, 30, has won promotion to the Blue Square Conference with his side Bath City.

It will be Bartlett’s second spell at the highest level of non-league football – he had two seasons in the Conference with Salisbury City, for whom he made 402 appearances.

Having left cash-strapped Salisbury, the versatile Bartlett, who can play at full back or in midfield, joined Weston-super-Mare and then moved on to Bath City in February on a two-year contract.

Bath finished fourth in the Blue Square South behind runaway champions Newport County and, having beaten Chelmsford in a two-legged semifinal, they beat Woking in the play-off final on Saturday in front of 4,865 fans at Twerton Park.

Former Swindon Town striker Kaid Mohamed, who scored in both semifinal games, got the only goal on Saturday.

Bartlett came off the bench for the last ten minutes of the final, his first appearance since he dislocated his shoulder five weeks ago. Bartlett said: “It was a real bonus to be involved in the final.

“We are a good side and similar to Salisbury in my time there in that we don’t concede many goals.

“In our last nine games we have let in just two – and one of them was an own goal.”
