THAT’S 50 percent of the job done; the other half will be beating AFC Hayes on Tuesday night to book our play-off place.

What I don’t want is to be heading to Thatcham on Saturday needing a result.

It is good that there is something on the Hayes game – it will have a bit of an edge.

The lads showed a good attitude on Saturday, although it helped to score early.

It was good for the strikers to get some goals. We had scored just five goals in the previous eight games. Browner’s goals will do him the world of good, Griff getting a hat-trick was fine, too, and he took his penalties well.

Rob Hoskin looked lively; he got a goal and, of course, he earned both the penalties. We were a threat from all angles.

We were able to give Paul Banks a run out and you saw how he gets in all the right positions – that is something you cannot coach. He’ll be like Hoskin – when he scores one, there will be a lot more to come.

I think the stats said we created 16 chances and scored 11 goals which is a pretty good percentage.

Matt Sysum came on in the second half and showed what a threat he is at set-pieces. He could have had a hat-trick. He has shown a great attitude and been a hard worker. He was unlucky that his dip in form coincided with Zak Westlake coming back to his best I was not happy about the goal we conceded but how can you get annoyed with them at half-time when they are 8-1 up.

We have shut out some of the top teams so pride was hurt that we let Bracknell score.

Again, for the Hayes game, we must block out what’s at the end of it. It’s points that are vital, not the performance.
