CIRENCESTER'S civic leader was well and truly mayor-borne in a bid to raise cash for charity this week.
The town's mayor Deryck Nash joined the South Cerney-based Silver Stars parachute team for a tandem jump on Monday.
And Cllr Nash, who has raised in excess of £1,000 for the Cirencester Access Group, says it is an experience he won't forget.
He said: "I never want to look out of an aircraft door at 13,000 feet again. It was a good experience but one which I wouldn't want to repeat."
Cllr Nash will present a cheque to the access group at half-time during Cirencester Town FC's Standard-sponsored home game on Saturday.
The cheque will be delivered by the Silver Stars team, who will parachute into the Corinium Stadium, Kingshill Lane, at around 3.50pm.
