FORTY to fifty orange lights spotted in the sky is just one of the sightings of UFOs in the Cotswolds revealed in previously top-secret files.

The Ministry of Defence has released previously classified files on close encounters in the UK with more than 6,000 pages of material being made public.

And it seems the Cotswolds has had its own fair share of X-files with most sightings coming in recent years.

Just last September six strange lights flying low with no sound of engines and with orange, red and other colours were spotted in Moreton-in-Marsh.

And earlier that month forty to fifty orange lights following the same trajectory with more lights coming over were sighted in Lechlade.

In July a ball of light the size of a small car, 26 metres above the ground was spotted in Westonbirt. It pulsated every five to eight seconds but then shot off. Witnesses say it was definitely not an aircraft or a Chinese lantern.

And a month earlier, in June, six round brilliant objects in pairs were spotted in Moreton-in-Marsh. The last two were in line and they were all spotted travelling in a south to east direction.

In 2002, one quite bright, semi circle object was seen moving across the sky in a straight line in Cirencester and a series of pink and spaced out lights were spotted in Lechlade moving in an arc.
