I didn’t know the players when I came in last September, but I knew what I was taking on.

I had to make changes so I have got to be pleased with where we are and where we are going. But we will not get above our station.

It can never be perfect but the thing is we can play better. And despite topping the table there was a disappointed dressing room because they knew they didn’t play well.

At the start we were giving their centre forward far too much space and not tracking any of the runners from midfield.

It was a nightmare having a touchline ban and I tried watching from a number of positions. It is not something I want to repeat.

Having said that, I did get a different perspective, especially from the far side and I spotted things that needed changing at half-time.

We have only kept one clean sheet all season and it is becoming a bit of an issue.

I thought we fought back brilliantly from 1-0 down and you can’t fault anyone’s endeavour.

After our third goal, I thought we would go on to get four or five.

But the minute we conceded the second goal the doubts returned. It is something we have to work on.

They were giving away possession far too easily. Find someone in a red and back shirt for four or five passes and get some rhythm back.

Rob Hoskin came in for Carl Brown and had an outstanding game. He’s only 18 and from what I could see, he should have had two penalties. Deano was back to his best. You can never fault his work rate, he just lacks a bit of know-how. But he is a kid and we can work on that.

I thought Jody had his best game in a Ciren shirt by a mile. That volley against Cinderford the other day has turned his season round.

Previously, he was not getting any chances, now he is on the end of a lot of crosses.

He took his goal very well and he should have had at least one other when he opted to volley instead of going for the diving header.

Eggy came back in and showed that he does create a lot for us. He does a lot of good things and a lot of average things, but he has all the attributes to be a player.
