FRIENDS of a popular Lincolnshire man who spent four years of his life living and working in the Cotswolds have paid tribute to his memory after he was killed in a late night brawl outside a takeaway in Lincoln.

Gareth John Robson, also known as Gareth How, was attacked during a night out on in Lincoln in the early hours of Saturday, September 12. He was taken to hospital but died from his injuries on the Sunday evening.

Two men from Nottinghamshire are currently on bail after a murder investigation was launched by Lincolnshire Police.

Friends say Gareth spent four years in Cirencester and during this time worked as a chef at the Fleece Hotel for several years and at Le Spa for 12 months before moving back to Lincoln at the end of last year.

Cirencester resident Rich Sutton, 27, worked with him at The Fleece Hotel for two years.

He said: "Gareth was an amazing chef and he made a lot of friends very quickly around here.

"He was always the kind of person you could turn to with any problems. Gareth was a top chap and he will be sorely missed."

In a statement released last week Gareth’s mother Eunice Robson spoke of the devastation his loss had caused the family.

"Gareth was so full of life – the life and soul of any party," she said. "He was always there for anyone who needed him and the messages on Facebook sum up the person he was."
