POLICE officers visiting the home of a Cirencester man ended up arresting home after spotting a line of white powder on his coffee table.
The 21-year-old had called officers to his home on an unrelated matter but forgot to conceal the substance, which had been cut into a line and was visible in his living room.
He admitted to the officers that it was cocaine and was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug.
After the substance was tested by police it was found to contain no cocaine at all.
The man is due before magistrates later this month to answer a charge of attempted possession of cocaine under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
