A scheme aimed at helping people to find work is set to launch for residents in need of extra help.
Connect to Work, a Government-funded programme, will offer personalised support across Wiltshire and Swindon to help people find, return to, and stay in employment, with a focus on those facing barriers related to health conditions or disabilities.
The scheme is being delivered through a partnership between Wiltshire Council and Swindon Borough Council.
David Harper, managing director for work, wellbeing and health at Shaw Trust, said: "Since Shaw Trust’s beginnings in Wiltshire, we have spent more than 40 years helping people into good work.
"We will bring that experience to Connect to Work in Wiltshire and Swindon, working closely with community groups and local employers to provide practical, personalised support that helps people find and keep jobs.
"We have seen first-hand what a difference Connect to Work can make.
"People are building new skills, securing employment and getting support with their health and wellbeing.
"This is good for individuals, good for communities, and can help reduce pressure on public services."
More than 120,000 people in Wiltshire and Swindon live with a disability or long-term health condition that could impact their ability to work.
Connect to Work aims to help eligible residents overcome these challenges, build confidence, develop career plans, and prepare for employment.
Support includes help with CV writing, job applications, interview practice, workplace adjustments, and access to training and wellbeing services.
The scheme forms part of the Government’s Get Britain Working plans and will complement existing employment support services in the region.

"Connect to Work is all about recognising people’s strengths, ambitions and potential, and making sure they have the right personalised support to succeed.
"By working closely with Swindon Borough Council, Shaw Trust, health services, community organisations and employers, we can open up more opportunities for residents, support people to build confidence and independence, and help our local economy thrive."
The programme is commissioned by Wiltshire Council and Swindon Borough Council and will be delivered by Shaw Trust until 2030.
It will also work in partnership with NHS mental health services, substance use treatment providers, and voluntary sector partners to ensure residents receive holistic support.
