A COACH service offering cheaper travel to London is set to return soon after a successful pilot scheme.
GoStroud's pilot scheme ran in July and offered a peak-time alternative to expensive train fares, with passengers able to travel from Stroud to London via Cirencester for £30 return.
The return journey departed West Drayton at 6.15pm, arriving back in Stroud shortly after 8pm.
Bookings are now open for September & October, with trips kicking off on Tuesday, September 8.
The social enterprise, run by husband and wife team Tom and Rebecca MacMillan said there had been an 'amazing response' from the community, prompting plans to restart the service next month,. .
The pilot service ran on July 14, 15, and 16, with passengers boarding at Stroud, Stonehouse, Cirencester, or Chalford and alighting at West Drayton to catch the Elizabeth Line into central London.
The coach departed from Cheapside in Stroud at 6am, arriving in West Drayton in time for the 8.02am Elizabeth Line train.
GoStroud has also been running a survey to gather feedback on potential future routes, including connections between Stroud and Bristol and Cheltenham and London.
The spokesperson said: "Now we’re rolling, we are looking to create other routes nearby, where there’s a need for more practical or affordable transport connections.
"We have a few on our list, but we want your input to shape our next move."
The service will return in September and October, operating on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Return fares will cost £30.
Bookings can be made through the GoStroud website.
Passengers can expect on-board amenities including USB charging, air conditioning, WiFi, a toilet, and morning coffee and pastries.
