A FASHION brand inspired by the countryside was created as a university assignment by a Cirencester student.

Cotswold Fox was founded by Jemima Gray in 2021 while she was studying for her master's degree at the Royal Agricultural University.

The brand began as a project for her studies, but has since grown into a fully-fledged business.

The clothing is inspired by the idyllic English countryside and the equestrian lifestyle, which are both close to Ms Gray 's heart, as she has represented Great Britain in equestrian eventing.

Ms Gray said: "I wanted to create a clothing brand that could be worn from the yard to lectures, with pieces that looked great, were practical but didn’t come with a hefty price tag.

"I wanted to build a brand with a traditional British feel but refresh some old countryside classics to appeal to a younger audience.

"I believe clothing should be hard-wearing and still look new after being worn and washed on repeat.

"My business plan fortunately turned into my dream job, here I am four years on with an exciting fashion business."

The brand was named after Ms Gray's beloved pony Foxy and the Cotswolds.

Its best sellers include the classic Cirencester and Tetbury quarter zips, and the Heritage hoodie.

In 2023, Jemima won Online Retail Start-Up of the Year at the South West StartUp Awards.
