THE Malmesbury Good Afternoon Choir is inviting the public to a free summer sing-along.

Taking place at the Old School Room in Malmesbury Town Hall, the event will be held on Saturday, July 2, from 2pm to 4pm.

Led by Corrie Darker, the choir is preparing a programme of songs for the occasion.

The choir is part of a network of 34 groups across the south west of England, south Wales and London, with more than 1,600 members.

The Good Afternoon Choirs were launched 16 years ago by Grenville Jones, who said: "It is going to be a great afternoon of music and song at Malmesbury Town Hall."

The Malmesbury group meets every Wednesday afternoon from 2pm to 4pm and is open to everyone.

There are no auditions, and the first rehearsal is free.
