THREE members of Bourton Roadrunners competed in the annual Worcester running festival.
Celebrating its 13th year, the festival saw an oversubscription in both the marathon and half-marathon categories, prompting the trio to participate in the Worcester 10-kilometre event on Sunday (May 18).
Lorna Shawcross finished the race in 54 minutes and two seconds, securing second place in the FV/55 category.
Sharon and David Rees also completed the race, crossing the finish line together with times of 71 minutes, 10 seconds and 71 minutes, 11 seconds, respectively.
The event saw a total of 377 participants.
Elsewhere, local running clubs, including Bourton Roadrunners, were invited to help trial the relaunch of the Fire Services College event in Moreton over the weekend.
While this trial was not open to the public, Stow fire officer Ian Shoemark, a member of the club, was pleased to finish third overall.
The club was also represented at various other parkrun venues, including Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia, with Barry O’Leary finishing in 32 minutes and nine seconds, and Ayr, where Derek Darby completed the run in 23 minutes 32 seconds.
