MEMBERS of a Cirencester group have paid tribute to two trustees stepping down from their roles after more than 10 years of service.
People from Cirencester Civic Society said farewell to Carole Hudson and William Cooper.
It was a poignant moment for the society at the end of its annual general meeting.
The audience showed their appreciation for Ms Hudson, who had latterly served as membership secretary, with a bouquet of spring flowers.
Meanwhile, Mr Cooper, who had taken the lead in coordinating the organisation’s town walks and guides for many years, was given a bottle of his favourite single malt whisky.
The AGM was held as part of the regular monthly talks organised by Cirencester Civic Society.
March’s theme was about the history of the lido and outdoor swimming pools, of which Cirencester is one of the oldest, being opened in 1870.
This month, the organisation was due to welcome members and guests to hear about Soviet maps.
