Hunters Care Home, in Cirencester, was full of animal fun last week when Sarah and her delightful Dinky Ponies came to visit the home. Residents and staff at Hunters were pleasantly surprised to see the ponies, named Georgie and Charm roaming around their garden as everyone enjoyed a rare bit of sunshine.

As an extra treat everyone got to enjoy an ice cream from Joes Whippy’s which was lovingly organised by our friend Suzanne. Suzanne’s mum Pam was a resident at Hunters and organised the ice cream van to visit us to say thank you to all staff and residents.

General Manager Ciprian Groza said: “Our residents have really enjoyed their fantastic visitors today. We know that having these kind of experiences at the home are always fun for all our residents, especially as some find it difficult to go on many outings in our minibus. We are always looking for new activities for the residents and today we have seen the seen the enjoyment and the therapeutic influence animals can have on people.”

Resident Audrey was very excited and touched by the Dinky Ponies: “As a child I used to love all the animals on the nearby farm. Today was very enjoyable and the delicious ice cream made it all the more special.
