A POPULAR swimming pool in Cirencester is set to reopen to the public tomorrow for its summer season.

Gates to Cirencester Open Air Swimming Pool - which situated next to Cirencester Park in Riverside Walk - will be unlocked and ready to welcome back keen swimmers from Thursday morning, May 16.

Swimmers of all ages are encouraged to splash, paddle or do lengths in natural spring water which is heated to 26°C.

Sunbathers can relax in the large patio area and pick up a treat from the tuck shop which serves hot and cold drinks, snacks and ice creams.

This beloved venue is run by a committee of enthusiastic volunteers who were recently honoured with the King’s Award for Voluntary Service - the highest award a local voluntary group can receive in the UK and is equivalent to an MBE.

Visitors can book a range of fitness swims, family swims, adult and toddler sessions and aqua aerobics on the pool's website.

There will also be regular drop-in sessions and special events including moon and dawn swims.
