An Oxford address was closed by police after multiple arrests were made and knives were seized inside.

The incident took place on Tuesday (May 14) when Thames Valley Police officers conducted a search warrant at an address in Cowley.

Inside officers found several bladed articles which were subsequently seized while multiple people inside were then arrested as a result of this.

The force’s officers then chose to put in place a closure order on the property to protect the neighbours.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “Yesterday during Operation Sceptre officers from Cowley, Barton and South East had come together and conducted a warrant for an address in Cowley.

“This had a positive outcome and multiple bladed articles have been seized and arrests have been made in relation to this.

“We have put a closure order on the address keeping neighbours safe and the nights quieter.

“We strive to keep knife crime out of Oxford and to keep all members of the community safe.”
