A CHEF is encouraging diners to get the clippers out and try a daring new hairstyle to support a cause close to his heart.

Neil Johnson, manager and chef of Cheeky Swine Smokehouse at the Bee's Knees pub in Cirencester, has called on the public to take part in a sponsored trim at his venue to raise money for The Orders Of St John Care Trust on Friday evening, May 3.

Jane Rollett, who is married to one of the pub's regulars Paul, has been diagnosed with cancer and is receiving care at the trust's nursing home in Charlton Kings, Cheltenham and Neil wanted to organise an event to support her, the trust and her family during this difficult time.

Neil used to sport a green Mohican and hopes others will get involved in the charity trim to try out a new funky look.

The chef said: “Paul has been a fixture at the pub and we have got to know him and want to do something to help him, his family and The Order of St John.

“We are asking people to do something fun with their hair, like my mohawk, it doesn’t matter if it is in the Mohican style or if you want to colour it pink - just something different to raise money for a great cause.”
