A BRAND-NEW light experience will take place at a popular tourist destination in Gloucestershire later this year.

Westonbirt Arboretum visitors will be able to admire luminous birds delicately suspended in the air, colourful neon trees, glowing stars, a sparkling tunnel of light and the forest filled with all the colours of the rainbow this winter.

Forestry England has teamed up with the award-winning, internationally acclaimed light trail producers behind Christmas at Kew and Christmas at Blenheim to host a never-before-seen experience for all the family between Friday, November 29 and Tuesday, December 31.

Matthew Findlay, Sony Music’s head of UK Trails, said: “We’re thrilled and hugely excited to be collaborating with Forestry England to produce a spectacular new festive trail which will be an unforgettable addition to the Christmas calendar.

“Quite literally it will show the arboretum at Westonbirt in a new light and visitors can expect a collection of beautifully designed illuminations, choreographed to seasonal sounds which will fill the evening air.”

As you wander around the trail, warm up with a hot drink or tasty snack from one of the hand-picked street food vendors or stroll through the Christmas Village to see the tempting treats or gifts on offer.

Zoe Tyler, events manager at Westonbirt, said: “We are looking forward to working with Sony Music, which has given us a great opportunity to host a spectacular light experience, making the most of our unique collection of stunning trees.

"We are excited to see the amazing new installations and believe all our visitors will enjoy Christmas at Westonbirt, over 23 nights this winter."
