SEVENTEEN teams across the region took part in a 'fantastic' day of football on Saturday.
Great Oldbury Youth FC hosted the U8 Challenge Shield and Alison Bennett Cup for the Cotswold Youth League on Saturday, April 20.
Seventeen teams in total joined the event with the winners of the groups now going through to the finals on Saturday, May 4 at Malmesbury Youth FC and Avonvale United grounds.

U8 Alison Bennett Group A winner - Malmesbury Youth Thunder
U8 Alison Bennett Group B winner - Tetbury Town
Sonia Brinkworth, Great Oldbury chair, said: "It was a fantastic day with catering provided by Gage Catering, Great Oldbury Tea Tent, ice creams Creams, Glitter Art Tattoos and a bouncy castle from Stephens Family Castles.
"A big thank you to all of the volunteers at Great Oldbury Youth FC for helping on the day for us to be able to host this event, and thank you to Park Junior School for accommodating us."
