A BARBECUE chef has joined forces with a new butchers to celebrate the best of British beef.

Neil Johnson, head chef at Cirencester-based smokehouse Cheeky Swine, has been working with CotsWild meat company to create some stunning specials which will be served at The Bees Knees Pub in Cirencester during British Beef Week.

The nationwide campaign, which starts on Tuesday, April 23, celebrates the versatility and taste of British beef, while highlighting the commitment and dedication of British beef farmers to sustainable practices.

Neil loves supporting local butchers in our area and uses beef brisket, burgers and cuts to create many of his special smokehouse dishes.

The chef said: “The week that begins on St. George’s Day, gives us the opportunity to celebrate the sustainability of our local beef.

"In this region, alone, we have the perfect climate for rearing beef cattle.

“We are very lucky to have this all on our doorstep and it is one of the reasons that I wanted to set up Cheeky Swine in Cirencester.”
