A RELAXING hotel near Cirencester has had a makeover.

Owners of Stratton House Hotel and Spa have invested around £300,000 into revamping the business' kitchen and restaurant.

Husband and wife team Aidan and Sarah Stevens first took over the venue in 2016 and have been busy putting their stamp on the 43-bed 17th Century hotel ever since.

They first tackled the bedrooms, then added £1 million spa facilities, and have most recently renovated the restaurant to provide visitors with an elevated dining experience.

Wiltshire and Gloucestershire-based companies Inndecs, ADS Design and Inngear were heavily involved in the design and construction work of the revamp.

The full transformation will be unveiled at a launch party on Thursday, April 11.

Several job opportunities at the restaurant, including an additional chef and a new food and beverage supervisor, have been created as a result of the renovation.

Mr Stevens said: “The new kitchen was a necessity, and this led to further work on the hotel’s restaurant, which is open to both guests and non-residents.

"We don’t see ourselves as simply a hotel.

“We want to appeal to Stratton and Cirencester residents as well as those living and working in the wider community including the nearby villages.

“With the newly refurbished kitchen and restaurant, we are launching a series of events that we hope will inspire people to come and take a look, if they have never been, or reacquaint themselves with all that we have to offer.

"We have a wine tasting event coming up in April and a regular Grill Night to start things off as well as a free Easter Egg Hunt in our walled gardens on Easter Sunday.

"Details of these events can be found on our website and social media channels.

“Our ethos as a business is to support our local community as much as we can and we already work with a number of local suppliers.

"Our wine tasting event will be hosted by Andy Cole of Vinotopia based in Nailsworth."
