AN OVERLOADED vehicle was seized by police officers on the M4 this week.

Officers from Wiltshire Police's Road Policing Unit stopped a driver on the motorway on Monday, March 18 because the vehicle was carrying an insecure load which was over the legal weight limit.

They also discovered that two passengers weren't wearing seatbelts, that the number plate didn't conform to specified requirements and that the vehicle wasn't taxed.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "The Road Policing Unit stopped this vehicle on the M4.

"The stop just kept on giving, with two passengers not wearing seatbelts, the vehicle was grossly overweight, had an insecure load, and the number plate did not conform plus numerous defects discovered by DVSA and the vehicle hadn't been taxed for quite some time!

"Papers were issued and vehicle was seized."
