A MAN and woman in their 80s were taken to hospital with serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash yesterday afternoon.

Police were called shortly after 1.30pm on Tuesday, March 12 to a crash, which involved a white Mercedes C350 and a black Toyota Yaris, on Bristol Road near Nicks & Co Timber Ltd in Gloucester.

The Toyota driver, a woman in her 80s, sustained a broken wrist and injuries to her ankle and was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment.

The passenger, a man also in his 80s, was also taken to hospital where he was treated for multiple fractures to his ribs and a fractured spine.

Meanwhile, the Mercedes driver sustained minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.

Any witnesses who saw the vehicles before or during the crash have been asked to contact the police.

Officers would also like to hear from anyone who may have mobile phone or dashcam footage of the collision.
