This week's Tetbury news by Kevin Painter.

1. New business officially opened

Well it was a real red carpet event as James Padden officially opened and welcomed every one to the new Tetbury flooring business Flooring South West.

Tetbury Mayor Cllr Liz Farnham proudly cut the ribbon with some very special shears owned by Lutz Wagner a true Savile Row Taylor who’s discerning clientele has included nobility, royalty, it's the attention to detail and the warm friendly approach that makes this new business a cut above the others, again literally.

Upon the ribbon being cut and the many people entering the premises they were treated to a sumptuous array of nibbles and drink, and if that was not enough people were given an amazing goodie bag from the superb flooring providers Brampton Chase.

James Padden, aged 41, proud Father-of-three brought his business Flooring South West to Tetbury because he wants to give back to the community that he grew up in just a few miles outside in the lovey village of Kingscote.

James said: "First I want to Thank my family and friends all who have supported me. And the amazing new people I have met in this wonderful town, and feel quite blessed, and really feel at home here, which is appropriate as good flooring helps turn any house into a home!

"I will be taking an active interest in the Town by supporting the New Woolsack Races The New Tetbury Comic-Con and the New Tetbury Chamber.

"We are proud to support the British wool trade from our own historic home town Tetbury and we are also able to supply and fit carpets from well known established manufacturers such as Brintons, Axminster, Westex, Victoria, Brockway, Crucial Trading, Associated Weaversand of course a special mention of carpets from Riviera Home's Tetbury range.
