BUDDING artists at a primary school in our area utilised their talents to help promote safety at a new housing development in their village.

Ashton Keynes Primary School pupils joined forces with developer Bewley Homes for an exciting competition aimed at promoting health and safety awareness at the new King’s Water development on Spine Road West.

Once finished, the estate will comprise of 75 homes including a mixture of two, three, four and five bedroom terraced and detached homes.

Students designed eye-catching health and safety posters that will be displayed prominently across the construction site.

Bewley's health and safety manager Matt Jenkins declared Noa Kelly, Ella Hockley-Schwarz and Martha Hammond as the winners of the competition.

Mr Jenkins said: "Ensuring the safety of everyone on our construction sites is a top priority for Bewley Homes.

"We want everyone to come to work, be safe and go home in the evening.

“By involving the children of Ashton Keynes Primary School in designing these safety posters, we aim to display essential safety messages in a visually engaging way.

"It's not only an opportunity to showcase the creativity of the young minds in our community but also reinforces the importance of safety to our workers and visitors on-site.

"Construction sites inherently pose risks, and maintaining a strong safety culture is paramount.

"These posters will serve as constant reminders of the safety measures in place and further contribute to creating a safer working environment."

Headteacher Samantha Saville said: “We are delighted Bewley invited us to collaborate on this important site safety initiative.

"The children had a great time designing their posters and the winners enjoyed visiting a construction site.”
