Royal Birthday Card
I read with interest and full agreement the letter from J. Murphy (‘Mail Shambles’ 14/2/24).
My mother recently celebrated her 105th birthday – an amazing achievement – and was looking forward very much to receiving her royal birthday card on her birthday. It arrived – a day late – along with floral letter cards and a pile of birthday cards – all a day late.
It is appalling to think that postal deliveries only seem to happen once a week in her neighbourhood and, even more so, that a special birthday card from King Charles and Queen Camilla was sitting somewhere in the sorting office when, it is blatantly obvious from the front of the envelope what it contains.
