A CHARITY in Cirencester has thanked the community for allowing them to help disadvantaged people in the area over the festive period.

Founders Graham and Juliette Harris from Cirencester Signpost in recent weeks have been supporting a man, who is currently living outdoors.

They arranged for the man to spend several nights in a hotel as a Christmas gift from the charity.

Graham said: ‘We wanted to do something special to save him having to sleep on the streets at Christmas, so we arranged for him to stay several nights in a hotel as a gift from Cirencester Signpost.

“It was truly a privilege to be able to do something truly meaningful.”

Meanwhile, on Christmas Day at the Bothy in Ashcroft Road, volunteers cooked and served a two-course meal to a group of 15 homeless and vulnerable people.

Graham added: “It was a positive festive occasion, everyone chatted as Christmas tunes played in the background and was hugely enjoyed by everyone.

“All the guests received a gift card that can be used at a local coffee shop so they can treat themselves during the winter weather to hot drinks and cookies whilst keeping themselves warm.”

“We would like to thank the outpouring of financial kindness from the community that made all this possible.”
