POLICE have issued an alert after several cars were targeted by thieves in the Fairford area yesterday. 

During an incident, an unlocked vehicle in Morecambe Way was entered by thieves at 5.35am on Tuesday, December 19.

According to police, approximately £1,000 worth of Christmas gifts, plus house keys and car keys were stolen from the vehicle. 

If you have information use incident number 0418 of December 19. 

Meanwhile, another vehicle was entered while parked on a driveway in Daphne Jones Close between 5pm on December 18 and 7.30am on Tuesday, December 19. 

An orange rucksack was stolen from the boot of the vehicle.

During another incident, an unlocked vehicle in Trubshaw Way was entered by thieves and £5 in change was stolen at 3.30am on Tuesday, December 19.

A community alert from Gloucestershire Police reads: “Please don't hesitate to call the police if you witness suspicious activity and always dial 999 if you believe a crime is taking place.

“Please remember to securely lock your vehicle at all times and remove any valuables.”
