A CIRENCESTER man must pay a large fine for attacking a police officer.
Tony Perry, aged 34, of Melmore Gardens, Cirencester, had previously denied a charge of common assault of an emergency worker but changed his plea to guilty.
He was sentenced at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on Monday, November 20 and ordered to pay out nearly £1,500.
Perry assaulted the officer in Cirencester on September 1, 2021.
He was fined £1,038 and must also pay £75 in compensation plus a £104 victim services surcharge and £200 costs.
The total of £1,417 must be paid by December 18.
