PRIZES will be awarded to the best dressed Santa Claus at a charity run fun in Cirencester next month.

Volunteers from The Churn Project have invited residents of all ages and abilities to take part in the charity's inaugural Santa Run on Sunday, December 3 to kick off the festive season with a bang.

The event will take place in Abbey Grounds Park between 2pm and 5pm.

Participants can choose to run, jog, walk, or push a buggy, but must arrive at the park dressed in some fun festive gear such as a Santa hat or Christmas jumper.

Prizes will be given out to the best dressed junior and the best adult outfit.

Everyone who completes the 1km or 5km circuit will receive a medal.

All the proceeds from the event will help support The Churn Project’s work in supporting the vulnerable and marginalised in Cirencester and the surrounding villages.

Churn’s fundraising manager Erin Hughes said: “We’re really hoping this will be a fun way for Cirencester people to come together at the start of the run up to Christmas, enjoy the atmosphere, and raise money for a brilliant local charity.

"Entry is free but please ask your family and friends to sponsor you to complete either 1km or 5km around the beautiful Abbey Grounds.

"If you’re a local company or business, why not enter a team?"
