ONE of the country's best kebab vans won the vote of Cotswold MP Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown when he popped by for a snack.

Sir Geoffrey visited Osman Akdeniz at his kebab van in Bourton-on-the-Water last Friday, October 27 to support of their bid to win a national award.

Bourton Kebab Van is a finalist in the Kebab Van of the Year category for the Turkish Restaurant and Takeaway Awards 2023.

These awards aim to recognises, promote and celebrate Turkish cuisine in the UK.

Sir Geoffrey met the team running the kebab van, and he and his assistant happily munched through a sample of kebabs produced by Osman.

He said: "Osman and his team provide a really good service for the people of Bourton when they wish to find a quick and tasty meal, even late in the evening when other establishments in the town might be closed.

"I have written to the Turkish Restaurant and Takeaway Awards in support of his bid to win the competition and urge as many as constituents as possible to follow the vote for him before the deadline on Saturday, November 4."

The winners will be announced at a ceremony taking place at Sheraton Grand Hotel in Park Lane, London on Sunday, November 5.
