STAFF at Cirencester Leisure Centre have announced a major update about the closure of the swimming pool.

All swimming lessons or pre-booked swimming sessions due to take place at the leisure centre over the last few days have been cancelled due to a leak in the roof.

Contractors have been busy making repairs to the electrical control panel which was damaged by the leak.

Freedom Leisure - the provider which took over the site in August - announced this afternoon that work has been completed and that the swimming pool will reopen tomorrow morning (Wednesday, October 18).

A spokesperson for Freedom Leisure said: "Following the works that our contractors have completed, we are pleased to announce that our swimming pool will reopen tomorrow morning.

"All swimming sessions will recommence as per our timetable, and swimming lessons will also resume as normal.

"Thank you for your patience over the past few days."
