CARNIVAL organisers announced that a car park in Malmesbury has closed today so an annual fun fair can take place.

Danters Fun Fair returns to the Station Yard Long Stay Car Park - as part of the Malmesbury's Carnival Programme 2023 - from Thursday, August 31 until Saturday, September 2.

Families can enjoy the nostalgia of vintage fun fair rides, games and stalls.

The fun fair will be open to the public from 6pm on Thursday and Friday and from 2pm on Saturday.

To accommodate this popular event the car park - which is situated in Station Road, Malmesbury - closed at 5pm today (August 29) to allow time to set up the fun fair and will not reopen until 1pm on Sunday, September 3.

Over this period, the Weaver family has offered their large field off Holloway (SN16 9JL, what3words: scrap.passes.thickens) for alternative parking which will be marked by temporary signage.

The field is on the left going down Holloway towards the town centre, and motorists must not enter the private farmyard on the right.

Wiltshire Council has confirmed that holders of season ticket parking permits for Station Yard will be able to park in Cross Hayes for the period of the Station Yard closure.
