THREE food businesses in the Cirencester area have received new hygiene grades and its good news for all of them.

The Food Standards Agency's website shows that the following ratings were given to two cafés and one restaurant over the last few weeks:

• Rated 5: The Courtyard Café - Mulberry Court at Mulberry Court, Middle Mead, Cirencester, Gloucestershire - rated on July 31

• Rated 5: South Cerney Tandoori at 7 The Laurels, Clarks Hay, South Cerney, Cirencester - rated on July 27

• Rated 5: 7A Coffee Shop And Café, 7a London Street, Fairford, Gloucestershire - rated on August 9

It means that of Cotswold's 272 similar establishments with ratings, 247 (91%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.

Food hygiene ratings reflect the hygiene standards which are found on the day of inspection by the local authority - they are not a guide to food quality.

Ratings are given on a score from 0-5, with five being the highest.
