A COUPLE has transformed the former Laura Ashley store in Cirencester into a modern dental clinic.

Dentist Billy Chan and his wife Rosy, a registered nurse, had been the owners of Gloucester Street Dental Practice in Cirencester since 2010 but decided it time to move to a bigger space.

The practice in Gloucester Street was situated in a listed building house so the Chans were limited in what they could do with the space.

When the Laura Ashley store, situated in Querns Lane next to Majestic Wines, went into administration during the pandemic the building went up for sale.

The Chans leapt at the opportunity as this provided the perfect blank canvas to create their vision.

After almost two years of designing, planning, and building, the new practice is now open and has been rebranded to Cirencester Dental and Aesthetics.

As well as dental treatments, they also provide a range of aesthetic procedures such as skin tag and mole removals.

This bigger space has provided room for five surgery rooms - three more than they had in Gloucester Street.

The new clinic has a modern spacious waiting area, solar panels on the roof,  a high spec ventilation system and all systems have become digitalised including a 3D dental scanner.

Rosy Chan said: "We really thought about both the patient and staff experience when designing the new clinic.

"We wanted to make it accessible everyone, from families to older residents with disabilities.

"The front door is automatic, and all the surgery rooms are now on the ground level so are accessible to everyone.

"Since the pandemic there have been increased regulations about ventilation in dental surgeries, so we have invested in a high spec ventilation system."

Billy Chan said: "It has been a steep learning curve, but it was the right time to move to allow our practice to grow.

"This new clinic is much more functional and practical for our staff and our clients, and it is great that everything now has a place.

"Most importantly, the practice is still an independent and family-run business, with the same great team, delivering a friendly and high quality service to our clients.

"We are excited about the opportunities that our new clinic will bring, and we have a new hygienist and an extra dentist joining us in the summer.

“We plan to expand our services in cosmetic dentistry and facial aesthetics, along with other specialist treatments such as implants and braces.

“We hope to hold open evenings where people can come along to see how our new practice can help.
