FAMILIES and friends gathered in Malmesbury and celebrated King Charles III's coronation with live music, a community picnic and an array of royal themed activities.
The celebrations commenced on Saturday, May 6 in Malmesbury Abbey where the coronation service was projected on a large screen.
Vicar of Malmesbury the Rev Oliver Ross, supported by Curate Sarah Heywood, led a service of Thanksgiving at the Abbey the following day starting 11am until 12.30pm.
After the service, a free community picnic took place at Cloister Gardens behind the Abbey between 12.30pm and 4pm.
The gardens were decorated with red, white and blue bunting and union flags.
Families enjoyed picnics under the sunshine, live music from The Malmesbury Concert Band and dancing from Malmesbury Morris.
There was also a bouncy castle and a dressing up competition where children donned an array of impressive regal costumes.
Mayor of Malmesbury Gavin Grant gave out certificates to the best dressed royals.
