A MAN from Lechlade is due to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on Monday to face two charges of engaging in sexual communication with a girl aged under 16.

John Moth, aged 69, of Russet Avenue, St Johns Priory, Lechlade, faces two charges under the Criminal Attempts Act 1981.

It is alleged that he intentionally attempted to communicate in a sexual manner with a girl under 16 between November 4, 2019 and December 12, 2019.

It is claimed that Moth asked the girl to engage in sexual activities with him.

The second charge is dated between April 2, 2021 and 25 June, 2021.

It is alleged that he communicated with a girl aged under 16 and asked her to engage in sexual activities with him.

Both offences are alleged to have taken place in Lechlade.
