CIRENCESTER chippy won a prestigious award last week and now they want to thank staff and customers for their unwavering loyalty and support.

Malt & Anchor in Castle Street, Cirencester went to the National Fish and Chips Awards 2023 in London last Tuesday (February 28) and placed second in the Fish & Chip Restaurant of the Year category.

They were closely beaten by Fish City in Belfast but still got to take home a nice glass trophy with them.

Dan Lafford, director of Malt & Anchor said: "We wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation to all of you for your unwavering support and hard work in helping us become finalists at the National Fish and Chip Awards.

"While we may not have won the top prize, we can all take pride in the fact that we made it to the final stages of such a prestigious competition.

"The fact that we were chosen as finalists is a testament to the dedication and talent of our staff, who work tirelessly every day to serve up the best fish and chips possible.

"And of course, we couldn't have achieved this without the support of our wonderful customers, who have shown us unwavering loyalty and appreciation over the years.

"I know that we were all hoping to take home the top prize, but even being named second is a huge accomplishment that we should all be proud of.

"We will continue to strive for excellence in everything we do, and I have no doubt that with the continued support of our amazing staff and customers, we will achieve even greater things in the future.

"Once again, thank you all for your hard work, dedication, and unwavering support.

"Let's celebrate the fact that we made it to the final stages of such a prestigious competition, and continue to work together to provide the best fish and chips experience for our customers.

"As the winner was from Belfast, at least we can say we are the best in England!"
