IT HAS been confirmed that the Red Arrows display team will fly at the Royal International Air Tattoo this year.

The annual three-day event will be held at RAF Fairford on July 14 - 16.

British Aerospace Hawk Mk.51, McDonnell Douglas F/A-18C Hornet from the Finnish Air Force, two German Army NH90 TTC helicopters, a Leonardo C-27J Spartan from the Lithuanian Air Force and a Hawker Hunter MK.58 will also be flying or on static display.

The organisers have extended the Super Early Bird ticket offer until Sunday March 5, allowing adults to buy tickets at a discounted price and children can still go free.

Paul Atherton, chief executive officer at Royal Air Force Charitable Trust Enterprises, said: “It’s always great to be able to announce formally that the Red Arrows will be displaying at RIAT.

"They are a firm favourite of many who attend the event and will as always be a highlight in our packed display programme over the whole weekend.

"Confirmations are now starting to trickle in from overseas participants too, so lots more exciting things to announce over the coming weeks.”

The Air Tattoo enables the event’s parent charity, the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust, to fulfil its mission to inspire children to explore the amazing world of aviation every year.

It raises funds which allows the charity to continue to deliver STEM and aviation experiences for young people all over the UK.

There will be plenty of activities during the weekend for children to enjoy such as the Charitable Trust’s Techno Zone which is full of STEM related exhibits.

Kids will also be offered the chance to interact with the pilots and hear from the famous faces from behind the scenes on the Inspire Stage.

Justine Morton, Director, Royal Air Force Charitable Trust said: “At the RAFCT, we are extremely passionate about inspiring young people to fulfil their potential in air, space and technology.

“Over the weekend, there is a huge amount that children can explore on the ground, as well as watching the flying displays."
