Communities in or near the Cirencester area will remember those who have given their lives for their country this week on Armistice Day, Friday, and on Remembrance Sunday.

Here is a round-up of some of the events taking place.

Cirencester

There will be a remembrance day service and parade in Cirencester on Sunday, November 13 at 10am.

The route will include Cricklade Street, the Market Place, Castle Street and Sheep Street.

Fairford

The Remembrance Day Parade and Service will take place on Sunday.

Anyone wishing to join in and march with the parade to St Mary’s Church should assemble at 10.15am at Hyperion House Care Home ready to leave at 10.30am.

After the service in St Mary’s Church, there will be wreath laying at the War Memorial in St Mary’s churchyard.

Organisations involved will be the Royal British Legion (Fairford Branch), RAF Fairford, Fairford Town Council, Fairford firefighters, Red Cross/FEST, the WI, Farmor’s School, Fairford Primary School, the scouts, brownies and TS Raleigh Navy Cadets.

Malmesbury

There will be a service in Malmesbury on Friday at 11am outside the Abbey with an act of remembrance.

On Sunday there will also be a service at 10am outside Park Gates which will be followed by a Holy Communion with act of remembrance.

The Malmesbury Royal British Legion have also organised a civic service remembrance service which will take place at 2pm.

Tetbury

There will be a service in Tetbury on Remembrance Sunday.

Organised by the Royal British Legion, a parade will march from St Marys' Church to St Saviour's Church at 2.30pm. Afterwards wreaths will be laid at the War Memorial.

Officers from the 29 Company The Royal Logistics Corps are also expected to join this year’s service.
