A man was stabbed multiple times by four or five men in a residential area of Swindon yesterday.

Police officers were called to Loxley Walk, in the Park South area, after the suspects stabbed the victim and stole his bike in a robbery just before 10.30am.

The victim, who is in his 20s, suffered multiple stab wounds to his legs and arms and has been taken to hospital for treatment.

A large section of the grass by Amersham Road was taped off earlier including the footpath leading to Loxley Walk.

The man's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

The suspects stole the victim’s blue and grey electric bike.

Police cars were still parked on either side of the Loxley Walk path which runs between residential properties at around 1pm.

Detective sergeant James Rodrigues of the Operation Fortitude team said: “Please be reassured that there is no wider risk to the public and we are conducting a thorough investigation to identify those involved.

“Any kind of knife crime is taken incredibly seriously.
