A Cirencester man who broke the speed limit has been fined hundreds of pounds.
James Dashwood was caught breaking the 40mph speed limit on the A30 Great South-West Road in Feltham, West London, on January 15.
The 37 year-old had been driving a Volkswagen at 49mph.
Dashwood, of Back Lane, Ampney Crucis was found guilty under the Single Justice Procedure, which allows magistrates to prosecute without a defendant being present.
At Willesden Magistrates' Court on August 3 he was fined £220 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £100 in court costs for a total bill of £354.
His driving record was also endorsed with three penalty points.
Under the law, if you are caught speeding the minimum penalty is a £100 fine and three penalty points added to your licence.
You could be disqualified from driving if you build up 12 or more penalty points within a period of three years.
