An arrest has been made after the occupants of a car that crashed into a shop near Malmesbury Abbey fled the scene.
The crash occurred around 12.30pm on Gloucester Street, next door to Outlaws barber shop.
The road was closed while police, fire and ambulance services attended the scene.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “At around 12.30pm today (25/07) we received a call about a single-vehicle collision in Gloucester Street, Malmesbury, where a vehicle had collided with the front of a building.
“The driver and passenger of the vehicle were seen to leave the scene, so officers carried out a search of the local area.
“They have both now been detained and enquiries are ongoing.”
It has now been confirmed that one person has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
