A scarecrow trail is being held at the Cotswold Water Park next month.
Cotswold Lakes Trust, the charity responsible for looking after the park, is holding its annual family event on Saturday, August 20.
Everyone is welcome to join the trail from 11am-3pm. Participants will follow a 4km route from Cleveland Lakes nature reserve, along the Thames Path and around 4 Lakes near Ashton Keynes.
There will be refreshments at a lakeside tea tent, as well as craft stalls, hook-a-duck and welly-wanging competitions. Parking is free and dogs on a lead are welcome.
All tickets include a trail quiz sheet and are available for £4 per person on the day, £3 in advance and £2 for members of Cotswold Lakes Trust. Under threes go free, as does anyone who wants to make a scarecrow to add to the trail.
The theme is ducks and there is a cash prize for the best design.
Administration manager for Cotswold Lakes Trust, Helen Hanks, said the annual event was a great family day out.
“The setting alongside the lakes is stunning and it’s a really fun day, not just for children but for parents and grandparents too.
"This year with our duck theme, it might even be a bit quackers!” she said.
All proceeds will go towards supporting Cotswold Lakes Trust.
The charity receives no core funding and plays a major role in the environmental welfare of the Cotswold Water Park – a network of 180 lakes stretching across 42 square miles from South Cerney in the north and Somerford Keynes in the west, to Cricklade in the south and Lechlade in the east.
The Cotswold Water Park is nationally recognised as a unique wetland area which is home to tens of thousands of water birds, 20,000 residents and one million visitors per year.
