IT may be summer but it's never too early for festive fun.

The Severn Valley Railway will be open for bookings on its ever-popular Santa services from 11am on Tuesday, July 6.

Passengers will join the special services at Kidderminster Town station, where they’ll be greeted by a winter wonderland display of Christmas trees, singing reindeer and Santa’s sleigh, perfect for family photos.

There’ll be complimentary cold drinks for children, hots drinks in a special travel mug for adults, and a sweet treat for all.

Then it’s a vintage steam train journey with a reserved compartment or table to Arley station.

Here, passengers disembark and enter a magically decorated marquee to enjoy a pantomime performance, featuring Father Christmas along with Jingle and Jangle, a pair of extremely mischievous elves.

A brand-new character will be joining the cast this year for an all-new festive show with plenty of laughs, thrills and spills.

Back on the train, each child will discover a present with their name on, containing a premium gift.

The journey and pantomime performance last around two-and-a-half hours, and are guaranteed to help create wonderful family memories.

“We’re delighted to be able to open up sales for our Santa services this far ahead,” said Michael Dunn, the SVR’s head of visitor experience.

“We know that many people want to make sure they get their seats booked, and we’ve already been taking plenty of enquiries from parents and grandparents, determined not to miss out. For thousands of families, Christmas just wouldn’t be complete without a journey on the Severn Valley Railway!”

Santa services begin on November 26 and run on selected days until December 24.

Online bookings open at svr.co.uk and phone bookings can be made by calling 01562 757900.
