ALDBOURNE: Plans have been submitted for a pavilion/pool house with terracing and a swimming pool at the Court House in Aldbourne.

It is a private property - but a Grade II listed building.

It is considered the proposed development "would not compromise the setting of the Court House or the Carriage House, the gardens or the wider character of the village".

The application adds: "These proposals to be appropriate and without harm. They will not affect the heritage significance of the setting or the landscape character. The scheme demonstrates the new pavilion and pool will enhance the grounds of the Court House and the conservation area."

BIDDESTONE: Biddestone Developments wants to demolish an old pub and build a house in its place.

The application site forms part of existing planning permission for the conversion and part demolition of The Biddestone Arms to form one house and the erection of three new ones.

The application proposal has been formulated following post-application discussions with the project engineers who have raised "significant structural and design issues with the permitted partial demolition and re-build".

Following consultation with the heritage consultant, neighbours and the parish council, the applicant has concluded that the best way to proceed is to completely demolish the pub and replace it with a with new build dwelling virtually identical to that approved under the existing planning permission.

BISHOP'S CANNINGS: Bishop's Cannings Parish Council has submitted plans for the installation of a multi-use games area, replacing previous play equipment on land between Kingsmanor Wharf and Kingfisher Drive.

WINGFIELD: An appeal has been made to the planning inspectorate over an alleged breach of planning control.

It is alleged that, without planning permission, Mr T McGinley changed the use of land off Shop Lan, Wingfield, from agriculture to a mixed-use consisting of the siting and residential occupation of caravans as well as the storage of caravans and portacabin together with "operational development to facilitate the unauthorized use of land, namely the laying out of a hard standing area and the creation of a hard core gravel access track".

The enforcement notice requires the following steps to be taken: For the occupant to permanently cease the occupation of the land for all residential purposes, to permanently remove all caravans from the land, and to permanently remove the porta-cabin from the land.
