CIRENCESTER Food Festival is on today.

The event will take place in Cirencester's Market Place, West Market Place and the Gardens of St John's Church.

It will be open from 10am-4.30pm on Sunday, May 22.

The festival is being managed by Cotswold Markets Ltd on behalf of Cirencester Town Council.

Mathew Joynes, from Cotswold Markets, said: "After the unfortunate cancellation of the 2020 event, we were back with a bang in 2021, despite the weather trying to slow us down on the Saturday, and here’s to an even bigger and better food festival in 2022."

As well as the food and drink stalls, there will be live music and children's entertainment in the festival garden, and cookery demonstrations in the cookery theatre on the Market Place.

Demonstrations will include the Daylesford Cookery School, Siblings Gin providing a cocktail demonstration and Matteo Conte of Non-Solo Pasta.

"There will be a fantastic variety of food and drink on offer over the course of the weekend from a great range of local traders," added Matthew.

"Whether it is sweet treats from Tewkesbury Treats or delicious beer from Goffs Brewery, there is plenty for everyone over the weekend."

All the regular markets in Cirencester are continuing this month, including charter markets in the Market Place until 3pm on Mondays and Fridays.

Indoor markets are running Sunday-Thursday from 1pm-4.30pm in the Corn Hall. Also in the Corn Hall are antiques and collectibles markets from 8am-3pm on Fridays and craft markets on Saturdays from 10am-4.30pm.

There are also two vintage markets planned for this month. A vintage and artisan market is being held in the Corn Hall from 10am-4pm on Sunday.

A vintage market will also be held in the Market Place on Sunday, May 29 from 9am-5pm.
