A Cricklade man has appeared in court after he assaulted a woman.
Steven Bayross, 56, was sentenced at Swindon Magistrates Court on Thursday having pleaded guilty to assault by beating at an earlier hearing.
The incident occurred on July 24 last year.
Bayross, of Common Hill, was fined £200 and ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34. No order was made for costs due to the defendant's limited means.
A restraining order has also been put in place. Bayross is not to contact the victim directly or indirectly.
