Easter Sunday saw the return of popular night spot in Cirencester as it reopened to raise funds for the Ukraine crisis.

Seventeen Black, on Castle Street, is now known for its cocktails and food but not so long ago was a busy nightclub with party goers filling the floor three times a week.

"Things have certainly changed," said Dan Lafford, the venue's director.

"We are very pleased with our transformation to a speakeasy restaurant/bar but we have been bombarded by customers to reopen our dancefloor ever since we closed it post-Covid."

On Easter Sunday, the venue to took on its customer requests and ran a club night, with £546 raised for the Ukraine crisis.

The money will be used to pay for blankets, chlorine tablets to ensure families have access to safe water, sleeping mats and first aid kits.

Manager James Stone added: "We had a great turnout and it was lovely to see people dancing for a good cause."

Due to the success of the event, the venue has decided to host two more club nights on the upcoming bank holidays.

The venue remains open for food and drink six days week, with an additional nightclub space available for private bookings.
